Ecosphere Energy Research Center Iceland’s natural environment is an inspiration for sustainable architecture, with its abundant geothermal energy, volcanic landscapes, and basalt formations. This project seeks to harness the strength and resilience of basalt stone as both a structural and conceptual foundation for the Renewable Energy Research Center.
Morpho Bridge
The Morpho Bridge is a multifunctional pedestrian bridge designed with two circulation levels: a lower pathway beneath the main structure and an upper elevated route offering panoramic views. The bridge supports diverse activities, including walking, running, reading, fishing, resting, and sports, transforming it into an active public space rather than a simple crossing.
Accessibility is central to the design, with inclusive routes ensuring comfortable use for people with disabilities. The fluid, parametric form integrates structure, landscape, and movement, creating a dynamic and experiential urban landmark.
